Serving In Arnhem Land

Tim grew up in a Christian family as a “third culture kid” as his father worked for a big international accountancy firm. Tim’s family moved between South Africa, Botswana, England and Poland. Georgie spent her childhood in England and although she had always been deeply curious about God she only heard the Gospel and became a Christian when she was 21.
We met whilst studying at Oxford University and both went on to qualify as lawyers, working in the City and later moving out to Surrey. We had long supported the work of MAF and felt really drawn by God to investigate whether we could serve with them full time overseas.
In 2010 we left England for Australia where Tim trained in mission aviation in Melbourne and Georgie worked for a law firm, becoming a full time Mum when our first child Joshua was born. From there we went out to our first MAF assignment to the remote Aboriginal people of Arnhem Land in Northern Australia. Our second child Abigail was born there and we lived and served for 3.5 years before we were blessed with our third child, Lucinda and headed out to serve in Tanzania, Africa for a year. In 2016 we returned to England for a time of spiritual rebuilding and refreshment during which time Tim has been teaching physics and RE at a local school. We welcomed our fourth child Chloe soon after our return to England.
Ever since our return to England we have felt the Lord leading us to return to Arnhem Land, when the time is right, to take up again service there amongst the Yolngu and mining communities. We consider it a huge privilege to serve in such a special and remote place where the harsh and huge terrain means that the physical help that MAF brings is in great need. There is an equally huge need for the Gospel there to shine God’s light in spiritual darkness, and we are excited to be heading back in 2018.
Tim and Georgia are members of MAF UK.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
