Ian & Ashlee Rudduck
Serving In Arnhem Land

After growing up in the Toowoomba region of Queensland, Ian completed a mechanical fitting trade in Mount Isa. This was where Ian became a Christian and six years later felt God directing him to do long term mission work after a short term trip to PNG. Ian’s fascination with flight and a desire to serve in practical ways led him towards considering MAF, moving to Melbourne for training.
It was there that Ian met Ashlee at Youth Group, a young woman who grew up locally and gave her life to God at a young age. She was committed to serving people in various forms, such as children and youth ministries. Currently she is a volunteer tutor to Migrant and Refugee students. Ashlee also had a call to mission as a teacher and was excited by MAF’s purpose.
After two and a half years which included Bible College, Pilot licence and a Primary School teaching degree between them, they married in 2014. Now they are joined by their daughter Amelia.
While Ian is hoping to serve Arnhem Land communities through aviation, Ashlee is planning to utilise her teaching skills by assisting home-schooling families and being involved in local communities while they raise Amelia together.
How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? How can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? How can they hear without someone preaching to them? How can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
