Michael and Jael met in 2001. Michael worked as an industrial electrician and Jael was a medical lab technician trainee. During this time Michael undertook flight training to obtain his commercial pilot’s license. They got married in 2003 and completed Bible College in Melbourne, Australia, in 2007 joining MAF that year.
Three years ago they moved from MAF Arnhem Land in Australia to MAF PNG. They lived in Telefomin when they first arrived but moved to Mount Hagen where their children attend the Highlands Christian Grammar School.
PNG’s infrastructure has deteriorated significantly throughout recent years. Communication and transport for basic needs like school materials and medical supplies along with support for the local church is not guaranteed. Through the work of MAF, Michael and Jael want to help to meet these needs and make a difference in people’s lives. Michael and Jael see MAF as a way to serve the Lord with their abilities and assist the people of Papua New Guinea.
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
