Serving In South Sudan

Michael grew up in South Africa, and emigrating to Australia, met Naomi at university. Even before they were married in 2008, they both felt a calling to work with MAF and specifically to serve in places of greatest need. When they first joined MAF in 2010, that place was Arnhem Land where living and working for 6 years was an amazing experience for their family. Interaction with the Yolngu people changed Michael and Naomi, and taught them about powerlessness, justice and the importance and beauty of Christian fellowship.
Now, after moving to South Sudan in 2017, Michael is a pilot flying humanitarian aid and church workers in one of the physically and spiritually neediest places on earth, while Naomi volunteers at SIL, home-schools their daughters one day a week and edits a magazine for third culture kids in her spare time. They are both enjoying getting to know the people in the village around their compound, hearing their stories, and praying with them for healing and peace.
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
