Serving In Arnhem Land

Simon has been fascinated by flight for as long as he can remember. He first got to fly a light aircraft when he was 12 years old and the feeling of that first flight has never left him.
After growing up in a Christian family, when Simon was 16, he realised that his main desire in life had become to serve God. Simon had a few ideas on how he could do this, one of which was being a pilot. Just before his 18thbirthday, God gave him a very clear call to use his passion for aviation to serve with MAF as a missionary pilot.
To prepare for this, Simon spent one year at the Melbourne School of Theology and then three years at Swinburne University and CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, obtaining all the qualifications required to follow God’s calling.
Simon will soon move to Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. His passion is to serve the local Yolngu people and use aviation to share the gospel where it would otherwise go unheard.
‘How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?’
