Tony began his working career as a motor mechanic and Jill as a primary school teacher. After marrying in 1979 they ran programs for young offenders before being asked to work in a squatter settlement in Port Moresby, PNG, during the mid 1980’s.
In 1991, now with three sons, the family joined MAF and moved from Adelaide to Ballarat where Tony gained his licence as an aircraft engineer. They then worked for six years in Alice Springs including community involvement with youth, prison and aboriginal ministries and religious education.
In 2003, Tony, Jill and youngest son David transferred to Mt Hagen, PNG. 7 years later Tony and Jill moved on to join the MAF Bangladesh team where Tony took up the duties of chief engineer, responsible for the maintenance of the amphibian C208 aircraft.
2013 brought a return to home soil for two years at MAF’s engineering base in Mareeba, where Tony worked as the Engine Component Specialist. This also included a three month engineering support stint back to PNG.
Together they look forward to their next assignment with MAF, to bring help, hope and healing to remote communities around the world.
God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do.
